چکیده

The mean-shift algorithm is an efficient technique for tracking 2D blobs through an image. Although it is important to adapt the mean-shift kernel to handle changes in illumination for robot vision at outdoor site, there is presently no clean mechanism for doing this. This paper presents a novel approach for color tracking that is robust to illumination changes for robot vision. We use two interleaved mean-shift procedures to track the spatial location and illumination intensity of a blob in an image. We demonstrate that our method enables efficient realtime tracking of the multiple color blobs against changes in illumination, where the illuminace ranges from 58 to 1,300 lx.

Applying mean shift and motion detection approaches to hand tracking in sign language

Hand gesture recognition is very important to communicate in sign language. In this paper, an effective object tracking and hand gesture recognition method is proposed. This method is combination of two well-known approaches, the mean shift and the motion detection algorithm. The mean shift algorithm can track objects based on the color, then when hand passes the face occlusion happens. Several...

Mean Shift Driven Particle Filter for Tracking Players in Sports

This paper proposes a novel Mean Shift driven particle filter algorithm for tracking players in sports. A region of interest (ROI) is specified manually in the initial frame. The color image of the ROI is projected to a brightness and gamma corrected HSV space and the hue component of the HSV space is used to model the probability density function of the ROI, which ensures that the proposed app...

Real-time Tracking of Non-rigid Objects Using Modified Kernel-based Mean Shift and Optimal Predictoin

An efficient scheme for real-time color-based tracking of non-rigid objects is proposed. The central computational module is based on mean shift iterations. It computes the most probable target position in the current frame, while the prediction of the next target location is computed using a Kalman filter. The dissimilarity between the target model and the target candidates is expressed by a m...

Target and Background Area Weighted Tracking Algorithm

Recently, kernel-based tracking algorithms such as the mean shift tracking algorithm has been proposed. However, there exists an inherent instability problem which is due to the use of an isotropic kernel for spatiality. In this paper, In this paper, we propose a new tracking algorithm : the weighted mean of the centroids corresponding to each color bin of the target. The weight is determined b...

A Color Appearance Model Applicable in Mesopic Vision

We propose a color vision model that can be used to predict color appearance in mesopic vision as well as photopic and scotopic vision. It is based on a two-stage model which consists of the cone and opponent stages and it assumes rod intrusion at the opponent stage. The model has the following features to describe the color appearance in mesopic vision. First, it includes a gradual and nonline...
